Billy Bargain - the fastest price comparison in the world?

June 5th, 2009 | 5 Comments | Posted in News, Reviews

Hi everyone, the eagle eyed amongst you may have noticed a new feature we launched yesterday called Quick Prices.   We are trialling a new and faster method of comparing prices on Billy Bargain.   Initially we are trialling it on DVDs but if the feedback is good then it will be rolled out across games, books and music too (oh and there might be a new section being added to Billy Bargain soon as well - keep em peeled).

Whenever you see the Quick Prices button (just below the usual Compare Prices button) you can click on it to be presented with the prices for that DVD in an instant.

There’s no need to wait for a new page to load - a new layer will appear on top of the current page showing you just the prices of that DVD.   You won’t see any details about the DVD other than the title, no ebay listings, no reviews, no Billy Bargain logo - you will just see the prices.    By removing all of those things and by not opening a new page you can compare prices faster than ever before.   Of course if you want to find out who directed the film, who starred in it, when it was released or any other good stuff then you just need to click on the Compare prices button as usual!

Please feel free to let us know what you think about the new feature of Billy Bargain and as always let us know of any other changes or ideas you’d like to see.

Wow, that’s fantastic. Really, really impressive. I like the way that I can search for Batman for instance and then click on quick prices for all of them really quickly rather than having to load each page up and then click on the back button or search again!

Put it on the music section next!

I like this a lot, it’s pretty damn cool. Can you maybe add the dvd image to quickprices? Other than that I really appreciate this new feature.

    Thanks Billy the Kid!

  3. Jason Says:

That really is impressive. Like Julie, I think it is great for comparing prices for more than one DVD without having to keep loading up new pages.

Hope it goes well for you.

I like to keep an eye on the ebay listings but for anyone who prefers to shop at the main online stores this is a great new feature and it works perfectly.

    Hi James,
That’s a good idea, we’ll add that to the todo list.
    Thanks for your input.
