Guitar Hero 3 - £40 for the Wii!

October 9th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Games News, Sales and Offers

Amazon have dropped the price of Guitar Hero III (Legends of Rock) for the Nintendo Wii down to just £40 including free delivery.

The game includes a Paul Gibson styled guitar and the game as well which is a bargain at £40 as it was up near £70 on release. The guitar is a classic white to match the wii and it looks great but you can replace the white with other faceplates (available seperately) - including a union jack guitar face a la Oasis.

Setting up the guitar to work with the Wii is simple. Just take the panel off the back of the guitar, place your wii-remoted into the slot and you’re ready to Rock!!!

There are loads of classic rock tunes included there’s something that everyone will love. Imagine yourself playing Knights of Cydonia by Muse in your living room (better draw the curtains!).

Playing in band mode you start your career in a new band that is trying to earn the right to play the big stadiums. Of course to start out you have to play the small venues, get signed, make a video and earn some money before you can play the big events.

When the music starts you’ll see the fretboard of the guitar scrolling down your TV and when the strings are played on the screen you need to press the relevant coloured ’string’ (button) on your guitar and strum at the right moment to keep the song going. Miss too many notes and you’ll be booed off stage!

The gameplay is fantastic and the response from the guitar is spot on. If you hit the notes right you’ll be rewarded with a great tune blaring out of your telly and the adulation of your friends and family, mess it up and they’ll mock.

Anyone can pick up the guitar and play a song, there’s an easy mode which uses just 3 strings on the guitar meaning that you can get the hang of it all but if you want to compete with Slash then you can play all 5 strings when you become more accomplished.

Guitar Hero III - for £40 - that is a proper Billy Bargain!
